Primary fields of research

My research focuses on utilising cyanobacteria and eukaryotic microalgae for biotechnological applications. I am particularly interested in developing synthetic biology tools for product yield improvement with a focus on metabolic channelling and membrane protein anchoring.

My current research project “Cynthetica” focuses on tool development for cyanobacteria working in collaboration with the Danish Technological Institute. The project is funded by an individual fellowship from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement no. 745959.
