Postdoc Klara Cecilia Gunnarsen
With a background in soil science, I am excited to join the INTERACT project for the next couple of years. Using novel techniques for imaging biogeochemical gradients of in soil, I will contribute to the understanding of how microbial communities affect rhizosphere chemistry on temporal and spatial scales. Methods may include DGT extraction, zymography and planar optodes in rhizoboxes or other soil-plant containers. My previous work focused on enhancing nutrient solubility of different soil amendments by physical and chemical modifications. This work was conducted on many different scales from petri-dish to full scale field experiments. I look forward to implementing my knowledge and experience in the microbial context. Especially, I look forward to our creative collaboration across fields of expertise.
