Short description of the thesis

Plant populations depend on successful sexual regeneration to adapt and persist in a changing climate. Although all stages of sexual reproduction are highly sensitive to environmental conditions, important aspects of these processes remain poorly understood. Examining the patterns and drivers of pollen longevity and seed germination niches of Arctic plant species contributes to a deeper understanding of how environmental factors regulate plant regeneration across different stages of the life cycle. In a rapidly changing climate, this knowledge provides an essential foundation for understanding how environmental change may affect species distributions and plant community composition, while informing strategies for biodiversity conservation.
