A discussion of Rued Langgaard's Ninth Symphony, "From Queen Dagmar's Town" contrasting Langgaard's views and musical practice with those of Thomas Laub. The article discusses Langgaard's use of Laub's version of the ballad melody "Queen Dagmar Lies Ill in Ribe" in the symphony, and gives an interpretation of the symphony as a whole and Langgaard's relation to the Middle Ages and the past.
