I am a driven, independent scientist with a deep interest in mucosal homeostasis. I strive to bridge knowledge gaps by integrating mucosal immunology, microbiology, and epithelial cell biology to achieve a holistic understanding of the intestinal mucosa with translational perspectives. Communicating and collaborating with others, also outside my direct field of expertise, is my passion and allows me to address research questions beyond traditional discipline boundaries. Together with my scientific expertise, this skill set allowed me to build a strong publication record and acquire independent funding. As a co-founder of two organizations, I have gained solid experience in identifying gaps, conceptualizing solutions, and building and leading a team to implement these. I look forward to applying these skills to address current and future challenges anchored around mucosal homeostasis.
