Analytical Chemistry

In Analytical Chemistry we perform basic research in advanced analytical chemistry and signal processing and develop and apply novel methods for chemical fingerprinting, profiling, and target analysis of complex mixtures. We focus equally on analytical chemistry basic research, applied analytical chemistry, and education at all levels and are responsible for the Research Center for Advanced Analytical Chemistry (RAACE) at University of Copenhagen.

In the research group we aim to develop novel analytical platforms such as comprehensive two-dimensional chromatography with mass spectrometry detection and strategies for automated signal processing. We apply these methods for simultaneous analysis of thousands of chemical compounds in complex mixtures represented in environmental samples ('contamin-omics', 'water-omics', and environmental metabolomics), and we use them to provide information on industrial processes in collaboration with industry partners.
