PhD Student

I am interested in how the environment affects host-pathogen interactions in mass-reared insects. With my research, I seek to understand the challenges that arise in mass-reared insect cultures in relation to diseases and environmental stress. Moreover, I am investigating how insect production can be optimised and the risk of disease outbreaks can be minimised at the same time.

In my PhD project, I examine the impact of multiple stressors (temperature, CO2 and pathogens) on the yellow mealworm (Tenebrio molitor). I am currently based at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and I am enrolled at the University of Leeds and the University of Copenhagen.
