I am a PhD fellow at DynaMo - Center for dynamic molecular interactions.
My main interest is to understand how the plant defence compounds, glucosinolates, are transported within the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and how that transport is regulated. I use the Xenopus laevis oocytes and yeast heterologus expression systems to identify and characterize potential glucosinolate transporters. To understand how the transporters are regulated at a post-translational level, I do protein-protein interaction studies using the split-ubiquitin-based membrane yeast two-hybrid system.
I hope that by elucidating how the trasnport processes are regulated, we get a clearer picture about the distrubuiton of defence compounds.
